A Note From Our Chair
"Last years progress at the cricket club was quite remarkable, we turned the financial crisis around, trained two new coaches, replaced the roof, developed a website and started quick cricket for youngsters. We held many functions; fetes, concerts, golf tournaments, curry nights, a 6 aside tournament, inter village ladies and mens matches and many other events Herongate and Ingrave Cricket Club moved most importantly from being outside of village life to becoming a key part of village life; attitudes towards it are changing and will continue to do so. This season so far, memberships have risen, more players have joined the club and the future is looking bright. Events are planned and the season is about to start. This is by no means a small feat and could not have been achieved without the incredible and tireless efforts of the Club Committee who never cease to amaze with their ingenuity, drive and sheer hard work. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed so much to help this club over the past year, in particular the people who may not be listed in club roles but are there whenever they have been needed. We should all be very proud of what we have achieved and I look forward to more success this year on and off the field. Thanks again!" Dean Barry

Welcome to the website of Herongate Cricket Club. Herongate Cricket Club has been a part of village life for 158 years and is one of the oldest village cricket clubs in the county of Essex. In recent times the club has fallen into disrepair and financial hardship. At an Emergency General Meeting earlier this year the decision was taken to wind up the old club and form a the new Herongate and Ingrave Cricket Club and instead of the committee being staffed by players the new committee would consist of players and villagers with the aim of combining cricket and village life.
The objectives of the new committee are fivefold:
1. Continuation of League Cricket in the T Rippon Cricket League (Saturdays)
2. Village and social cricket to be played on Sundays
3. Training and coaching of young people in the village from ages 6-15
4. The integration of the cricket club into village life
5. To re-develop the club house and facilities offered.
