Fantastic News For 2010
The new cricket season is almost upon us and promises to be full steam ahead at Herongate and Ingrave Cricket Club.

Since the end of last season, we have been awarded two grants of £3000 each to enhance our training facilities at the club.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Councillor John Roberts and the tremendous work he has done on our behalf.
We are hoping to start work soon on a concrete practice strip which will be covered with astroturf. On this, we will place a
BOLA bowling machine with automatic feeder. It is all vey exciting.  Stay tuned for more updates...

A new season is upon us and the committee has worked over the winter months to improve all areas of the club. We now have two level 2 coaches ready for coaching next season, a practice strip will be built over the next few weeks and a bowling machine purchased. The coaches, as well as training the teams, will be able to offer one to one training for any age group.

The club is celebrating 160yrs this year and there will be various events held to honour this achievement. The membership levels are strong and we anticipate being full at every level of youth cricket. Social memberships are at an all time high and we are hoping to improve on last year and make Herongate and Ingrave Cricket Club a more integral part of Village life than it has ever been before.

We are particularly grateful to all the people that have supported us over the past year and on behalf of the committee we are looking forward to seeing the Cricket Community this summer.

We will continue to strive to improve the facilities’ we offer to our members to make our cricket club a place for the young and old in our villages to be proud of.

Thanks Again

Dean Barry

Chairman

A Note From Our Chair

"Last years progress at the cricket club was quite remarkable, we turned the financial crisis around, trained two new coaches, replaced the roof, developed a website and started quick cricket for youngsters.  We held many functions; fetes, concerts, golf tournaments, curry nights, a 6 aside tournament, inter village ladies and mens matches and many other events
Herongate and Ingrave Cricket Club moved most importantly from being outside of village life to becoming a key part of village life; attitudes towards it are changing and will continue to do so.
This season so far, memberships have risen, more players have joined the club and the future is looking bright.  Events are planned and the season is about to start.
This is  by no means a small feat and could not have been achieved without the incredible and tireless efforts of the Club Committee who never cease to amaze with their ingenuity, drive and sheer hard work.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed so much to help this club over the past year, in particular the people who may not be listed in club roles but are there whenever they have been needed.
We should all be very proud of what we have achieved and I look forward to more success this year on and off the field.
Thanks again!"
